Product Setup Specialist

Full-time

USD 12,000 a year

At LaunchBrightly, we are on a mission to automate the process of capturing and keeping your product screenshots up-to-date across your help center. Our screenshot automation platform allows you to set up simple automation recipes to auto-generate screenshots of the latest version of your product and continuously update them in your help documentation as your product changes.

Our work is remote, not distant. We're an async-first team that communicates in writing, moves fast, and trusts people to get things done without constant check-ins. No unnecessary meetings, no micromanagement — just clear ownership and focused work.

LaunchBrightly was founded in 2022 and is backed by prominent venture firms including IA Ventures, Tuesday Capital, and B Capital Group. As a Product Setup Specialist, you’ll become an integral member of an intimate 10-person team. If you like seeing your work directly impact customers — you’ll fit right in!

Job Description

This is a high-volume, detail-oriented role focused on setting up and maintaining product screenshots at scale. You’ll spend most of your time working inside our tool, navigating web applications, and completing structured, repeatable tasks with a high level of consistency and accuracy.

Your primary responsibility is to create screenshot “recipes” using our internal Screenshot Recipe Builder — a point-and-click WYSIWYG tool that records the steps needed to capture specific screens within a customer’s product.

You'll be doing this at volume — often building many hundreds of recipes per month across multiple customer environments. The work is methodical and detail-oriented, and doing it well requires patience, focus, and a genuine interest in getting things right day after day. Much of the work is repetitive by nature — success in this role comes from being able to stay focused, consistent, and detail-oriented across a high volume of similar tasks.

This isn't a data entry job. You'll need to think carefully about each customer's product, make judgment calls about the best way to capture a given screen or feature, and stay sharp when something doesn't behave as expected. But you don't need an engineering background either — if you're comfortable navigating web applications, using browser dev tools occasionally, and can stay organized across a high volume of tasks — you'll be well-equipped for this role.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for things such as:

  • Creating large volumes of screenshot recipes across customer web applications and help center environments using our Recipe Builder
  • Navigating customer web applications to understand their product UI and capturing the steps needed to automate each screenshot using our Recipe Builder
  • Identifying when something isn't working as expected and troubleshooting before escalating
  • Spotting patterns across customer implementations — noticing what’s slow, what breaks often, and where things could be improved
  • Documenting issues, bugs, and friction points clearly so the engineering team can act on them
  • Contributing feedback on the Recipe Builder itself — you'll use it every day, so your perspective on what could be improved is genuinely valuable
  • Occasionally using tools like the Browser Console and dev tools to inspect or debug issues

What we are looking for

The most important things for this role aren't technical — they're about how you work:

  • You're organized and consistent and can maintain quality across repetitive, high-volume tasks without losing focus or cutting corners
  • You're detail-oriented and notice when something is off — and you care enough to investigate
  • You communicate clearly in writing and can describe a problem or observation in a way that's easy for someone else to act on
  • You take ownership and don't wait to be told what to do next — you figure it out and get it done
  • You're comfortable working independently in an async environment
  • You have a customer-first mentality, with an instinct to imagine how users will react and interact
  • You're a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but doesn't need hand-holding to make progress

Bonus point if you

These aren't required but will help you get up to speed faster:

  • Some familiarity with browser dev tools or inspect element
  • A basic understanding of HTML and CSS — enough to recognize selectors and read a DOM
  • Any experience with QA, testing, or documenting product issues
  • Experience using Postman or working with APIs in any capacity

What we offer

  • Flexible working hours and locations. Your success is measured on outcomes
  • A culture of no meetings that protects focus time and productivity
  • Excellent start-up culture with openness and inclusiveness
  • True ownership and autonomy over your role and the impact on the company
  • Experienced founders with many years of successfully building product across multiple ventures
  • Annual meetup as a team in New York City

What to expect in the interview process

Given the remote nature of our work setting, one of the core principles for how we operate as a remote team is written communication. And we therefore run a slightly unique interview process that begins with an email-based exchange to learn more about your background, communication style and overall fit for the role.

  • Stage 1 — Email exchange with Josh (Co-founder): We'll start with a written conversation to learn about your background, how you communicate, and why this role interests you.
  • Stage 2 — Short practical exercise: We'll ask you to complete a brief hands-on task that mirrors the kind of work you'd be doing in this role.
  • Final stage — Two video calls: One with our Founder (Dennis) and one with our Senior Implementation Specialist, so we can connect more personally and make sure it's a good fit on both sides.
